Boccaccesca · October 2027

A culinary street festival for food lovers. Evviva Giovanni Boccaccio! Giovanni Boccaccio was born 700 years ago in Certaldo, just a few kilometres from the Tenuta. His most famous work is the “Decameron”, which is almost as important to Italian literature and language as Dante’s “Divine Comedy”. Boccaccio’s collection of witty tales also features a quick-witted painter. His name: “Buffalmacco” – just like the hamlet in which the Tenuta delle Rose is located.

Certaldo honours its most famous son with a wide variety of events. The highlight is the “Boccaccesca” in October: during this culinary street festival, the whole town turns into a deliciously laid table. Food lovers – or, as the Italians say, “good forks” (buone forchette) – will find something to delight them on every corner. In 2027 the Boccaccesca takes place for the 29th time, expected in the second week of October.
